David commenced his career as a prosecutor at Meredith Connell & Co. He became a barrister sole in June 1987 and was appointed King’s Counsel in 2005.
David has extensive experience as senior defence counsel in matters involving serious crime and he appears regularly at all levels in New Zealand Courts. Although David’s practice is primarily defence work, he is a member of the Auckland Crown Solicitor’s Prosecution Panel and for 10 years was a member of the Serious Fraud Office Prosecution Panel. David also has a significant civil practice which comprises litigation under the Criminal Proceeds (Recovery) Act as well as commercial and corporate litigation.
