Sarah is a Senior Associate at the Employers and Manufacturers Association (EMA). She spent approximately seven years in private practice, working at boutique/top-tier firms before moving in-house. She specialises in employment law, and her current work involves a mix of policy, advocacy, and advisory work representing 7,000 employers and manufacturers in New Zealand and actively advocating for legislative changes on their behalf. Sarah is excited to share her insights into the difference between private practice and in-house work, how she adapted and adjusted her skillset and knowledge to be a trusted in-house lawyer within the organisation, and some tips for young lawyers who might be considering an in-house career.
