Emily Walton is a general civil litigator with specialist expertise in insurance and construction work. Last year Emily joined Bridgeside Chambers in Christchurch after over a decade in partnership at a large national firm.
After the 2010/2011 Canterbury earthquakes Emily spent many years litigating earthquake claims. She understands the value of strong engagement between lawyers, engineers and other construction professionals in the disaster claim space. Since the Auckland Anniversary Weekend floods and Cyclone Gabrielle, Emily has been providing some pro-bono assistance to people in Titirangi, Muriwai and Hawkes Bay. She is also working with MBIE, ACE and Engineering NZ in the disaster claim space.
