Bridget Riley

Description

Bridget is an enrolled barrister and solicitor of the High Court in New Zealand and South Africa and an admitted tax lawyer with 28 years tax specialist experience in New Zealand.  She is the managing director of Bridget Riley & Associates, tax lawyers, a boutique tax law firm based in Auckland.

Well-respected in her professional field, Bridget has worked at two of the ”Big Four” global accounting practices, the largest mid-tier accounting practice as a tax director, and has previously established and led the tax team at one of New Zealand’s largest full-service law firms. She also spent a period of four months on the Ernst & Young New Zealand tax desk in Sydney early in her career.

Bridget’s style is proactive and commercial with the objective of unlocking value by providing practical, efficient business and tax solutions. Her expertise extends to the following:

• advising acquisitive commercial enterprises, private equity, venture capitalists, corporate M&A, and property investor clients on the taxation implications and aspects of their transactions, performing due diligence, drafting tax aspects of sale and purchase agreements and advising on deal structuring. 
• working with business owners and decision makers in both the corporate and privately owned sectors to unlock value through effective tax planning and sound business decision-making.
• advising businesses of all shapes and sizes at different stages of the business life-cycle on relevant tax issues.
• advising individuals on tax aspects of their private wealth and asset management, succession planning, and asset protection.

Bridget has been appointed by the Rodl & Partners German Professional Services Alliance as the New Zealand tax specialist member of their international network for the past 5 years.
